Proseal

I replaced the sending unit in my tank and Sealed both the sending unit and
plate waited 5 days to set up put gas in an saw a stream of Blue evaporating across the belly Darn.. any body had any luck with resealing or do I need to start over.. I thought of thinning it down slightly and placing a light vacume on the tank to seal my mistake
Here I was trying to make it pretty and it cost me

When I did mine, I put a fillet on the outside of each joint (in attention to the faying surfaces), and over each fastener. It was ugly, but worked.

Did you do anything similar? If not, it is not too late to give it a shot.
