Dumb aileron question

I've just realized I'm missing/misplaced one A-409 counterbalance (aka WATER PIPE 1/2X52). Is this really just a 1/2" galvanized water pipe I could pick up at Home Depot or is this some special aviation grade pipe I need to order from Van's?

yup... just a piece of water pipe.

That's interesting... one was missing from my kit, too. Fortunately, I live close to Vans and was just able to pick one up on my next visit to the factory.
