Default What is the empty weight of your RV-14A?

For those of you who have flying RV-14A's, what is your empty weight? I'm going to start building mine this summer and I'm just curious what others ended up with.

There's a whole bunch of reported empty weights in the 'sticky' RV-14 C.G. / weight & balance sample thread: https://vansairforce.net/community/s...d.php?t=133335

Ohhhh, I didn't know about that sticky! Thanks!

I went to that sticky and compiled a list of RV-14A empty weights reported there (link below) in case anybody is curious. A couple of these were not painted yet.

It’s worth noting that stage-in-the-process is a big variable. My empty weight at first flight was the lightest my plane will ever be - equipment (like gust locks, chocks), paint, interior, etc. were all added later.

First flight: 1232
One year later: 1268 (equipment, paint)
18 mos later: 1290 (interior, equipment - different engine but shouldn’t be much)

Yes, there are many variables. I just wanted a rough idea. The average weight was lower than I expected which is nice. I thought most people would be in the low 1,300's

1295 with all the bells and whistles - ifr avionics (dynon, avidyne ifd 540), full interior with side panels etc.

With my wife and I, full fuel, full bags, we are 100 under gross.

If you guys include your individual wheel weights, I'll update the spreadsheet and post it again later in this thread.
