After flying it 1000mi from Texas to Maryland, I did some pattern work trying to teach myself to land it more softly.

And then I wiped it down. Still building out my hangar....

Default Early Winter in MN

Yesterday was a delightful day for flying - as long as the (2 months early) 13F temperatures don't scare one off. There is about 6" of snow at KADC:

I pegged the VSI without any worry of busting CHT's, and blasted into the cold sky. The white of the snow against the blue sky made for some really nice views. What a great way to spend an hour - wandering around the lakes area! Keep building, it is worth it!

Default Not nearly enough

Haven't been able to fly much lately, weather and equipment issues. On Friday I changed out a leaky nose wheel tube. While lowering myself to the hangar floor to remount the wheel I discovered the glove I was wearing had zero traction with the floor. The result was a nasty shoulder dislocation. So probably be a month or more before I'm able to go again. 1.7 Hobbes at the beginning of September and 1.1 at the beginning of October. Hope I remember how in a month. I was thinking about doing some avionics upgrades (equip for IFR) this winter, but I need to get some flying in first and there won't be any crawling under the panel until the shoulder heals up. This is my 2nd dislocation, the first was during a pre-flight on a Cessna back in '14 just as I was starting out with training. Only down 18 days that time, but I didn't have to pull planes around. Oh well..

Default Working on the new hanger for 25DV

Finishing up work on my new hanger now that we are back in PA. I have a smaller hanger vs the hanger I had in Maine, but a good location at Heritage field. I have added more electrical circuits, led lights, Hot Dawg heater, and finishing up with insulation. In hope to get everything done by next week.

Default Gas run

We flew down to 4V1 on Saturday to fill up. When we arrived there was a Beech C90 parked in front of the gas pumps. Luckily the pilot was there, waiting for passengers. We carefully pulled in front of him to get to the 100LL. He put in 25 gallons a side of Jet A. I asked him how much it held, he told me 384 gallons total. A bit more than my 38 gallons!

Beautiful day for a flight. It is a good thing we went Saturday, today was cold and snowy. Not a good day for an RV to be out.

Blue skies

After the light rain this morning, it cleared up nicely late afternoon with downtown LA and Long Beach with Queen Mary in the sun.
