Canopy Slide Rail Question

Those who have there slider RV panited, did you paint the canopy slide rail or leave it unpainted?
I'm thinking it might be best to leave it unpainted. Wondering what others have done.

I painted the slider rails and rear track on my RV6 but polished them on my RV8. The paint on the RV6 chipped over time and I was always touching it up. Polishing them is the way to go!
