RV-14 flap position sensor

I recently purchased an RV-14A and found it has a broken flap position sensor. The original design by Van's, using a Ray Allen POS-12 sensor, seems less than ideal, because the pushrod actuating the flap sensor comes in at an angle, and it can wear out the sensor over time. I wonder if anyone else had this problem and how they built a better alignment for the system.

I had that on my RV7 for over 800 hours and on the RV14 for 250 hours with no issues at all. The standard push rod for RV14 setup is 0.063 rod/pin and should rotate freely with no issues at all.

No problem at 475 hours.
