Great control "lock"

The purpose of a control lock isn't necessarily to lock the controls in place, the real purpose is to keep them from banging around in the wind.

In the hangar, I found a piece of soft foam, as would be put around avionics for shipping. This piece was just slightly wider than the space between the control sticks, and maybe 5" deep. Voila! Aileron "lock." Another piece helped provide an elevator lock, but I'll probably use the seat belts, too.

Effective. Weighs nothing, easy to install and remove. Still have the wire lock for the rudder, but I made a new one, extra tall, and the ribbon does not attach to it.

Two hour IPC this morning, then I gave an IPC to the other guy. Lotsa hard flying, good review, knocking the rust off. Will probably rest tomorrow, launch Thursday for Oshkosh.
