A set of built wings will fit in the bed of a pickup. Just use a lot of padding. I delivered a set of RV-9 wings for a guy and they arrived without a scratch.

The easiest way to ship wings is leading edge down. The curvature gives lots of stiffness... Put some padding under it, like the foam-backed insulation sheets from Lowe's Aircraft Supply or Home Aircraft Depot.
