I had the honor of leading a missing man flight over a funeral at Cavanaugh Flight Museum Saturday afternoon at Addison airport. Special thanks to Rob Reece for coordinating with the appropriate folks to come up with a plan for ingress and egress in Addison’s class D. It’s a tightish fit between DFW and DAL with a 4-ship and the class B floor is 2,500’ - having #3 ‘go west’ calls for finesse.
RGNL APPR and TWR made it painless and we are grateful that TWR stopped arrivals and departures for us for two minutes so we could get in and out so easily. With not a lot of room to work with, Smokey, Monkey and Steely were rock solid wingmen in the bumps and 180* steep turn, helping pull off a nice pass that hopefully brought a smile to the faces of those mourning. A satisfying use of the RV for sure. Amazing hardware and a wonderful community.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Jay Elwin Shannon. Veteran US Air Force.

Enter top green line, turn to the right, over the museum and back out…
