Despite the crazy garage temps it was a good weekend for me project wise. This weekend I finished the cockpit brake plumbing!

Monday?s can be tough but I have been looking forward to this particular Monday morning! After a long period of pinching pennies I have ordered and received my new Superior Cylinders from Dart. I have all 4 but only three in photo.

Man they look pretty! I?m a happy boy!

Received my swing out cut out panel piece from Upnorthaviation.com Excellent precision work, all the Dynon end panels fit perfect even the rivet holes for the nut plates! Awaiting production of the new HDX to fill the big hole. playing with the Brother label maker, not happy with the tape look, may need to look for something different. Got my replacement DIN 12 connector for the Kannad ELT, take 2 soldering challenge tomorrow......here is my ghetto wiring job, notice the EFII fuel comp box, no need for red cube boxes, PLX O2 sensor and Fuel ratio gauge installed, Dual ECMs.....got to tie up loose wires and labeling, sat in the plane 6 hrs today, seats nice and cozy! If there are bad things you see here, (this is my first panel) please critique, Thanks, Bret

Default What is that finish you have used?

How did you get that effect on your panel? The diamond swirl effect? is it painted on? Machined on?

Looks great and wish i knew about the commercially available swing out as i would have gone that route instead of doing it myself.

Your wiring looks fine to me.... nice job!

Default Windshield installed and canopy fitted

I spent the 3 day weekend prepping and installing the windshield so I could then do the final fit of the canopy. All went well with the Sikaflex installation.

Next weekend will be installation of the side skirts and fiberglass to cover the gaps.

Installed the wings today, for some reason my fuel lines don't line up to the fittings on the tank?....may need to make longer ones that can do an S shape, or maybe two street JIC elbow 90s?

Finally, a place to sit. When I transfer the fuselage off of the sawhorses to a low table (a shipping crate with short legs), Karen and I will be to sit in the future N904KM and make airplane noises.

(No, I did NOT rivet the seat back angles over the blue vinyl...)

Default Splash of color on the engine

I've named my plane Pretti Penni. Today I put a splash of color on the ring gear support of the engine to be SURE I liked my color choice. Lycoming engines come in a standard boring gray color. Just because I'm building a Lycoming clone doesn't mean it has to be boring either.

Nice Bret. You have enough power up front a few pounds of paint won't slow you down. The paint itself should get you at least 10 mph faster!!
