Check Ride in Western Canada?

Check Ride

I?m looking at buying an RV and I?m sure the insurance company will want me to get checked out in one before allowing me to go solo.

Is there anyone in Alberta or Western Canada that would be able to give me a check ride?

I'm sure they will require a checkout; in my case they initially specified a "qualified instructor", but I was able to convince them to allow the checkout by a very experienced RV pilot who is not a certified instructor. That opens the door to a lot more people, many of whom are far more knowledgeable about the flying qualities and quirks of the RV's than most instructors. Good luck with your search for both aircraft and check pilot!

If you are near Calgary I would suggest heading down to High River. The EAA is very active there.
