What to do in Ottawa (CANADA)?

I'm going to be in Ottawa for work for a week Nov. 13-20. Should have plenty of time off. Any suggestions for aviation related stuff? I've heard there's a pretty good Canadian aviation history museum there. Thanks for any suggestions.

Definitely. The National Aviation Museum on Rockcliff airport is quite impressive. The War Museum is very much worth a visit as well, and if you can get over the river to Gatineau, check out the Vintage Wings collection: P40, P51, Hurricane, etc.

Enjoy your visit!

Komet

I went to that museum before it moved outside of the city proper (a long time ago). Enjoyed it. Best memory for me was an ME163 Komet on display.

It's in a fairly new building, but it hasn't moved; still on Rockcliff airport which is right in the city:)

The airplane collection there is really great. We have our EAA meetings there in one of the small video theaters.

The war museum is a must see. It can easily take up a day, but it is well worth even breezing through.

The Museum of Civilization is another great place to visit, although completely non-aviation related

Hmm,
Time dilation effects. :) It was a LONG time ago. War Museum was within walking distance of capital building. Circa 1975. Tried to find it on a trip through Ottawa around 2000 and was told it moved (probably to the site you mention). Could not fit the excursion into the plan since I had people in tow.

If you are staying downtown, the war museum is still walking distance from the Parliament buildings, just a bit further than the old one. Excellent museum. One very interesting aspect that is easy to miss, as you walk in there is a room on the right, when you enter there is a grave marker on the wall that is from the grave of the Canadian Unknown Soldier who was brought to Ottawa from where he had been buried in France and is now interned at the national war memorial. The windows in the wall opposite are situated so that the only time the sunlight falls on the grave marker is at 11 O'Clock on the 11th of November, the moment the First World War ended.

The other two will require a cab ride, but not hard to find.

Have fun....Ottawa is a great city, good restaurants and lots to see.
