Sound Deadening

Most of the time pilots worry about weight and useful load, usually sacrificing comfort for performance. Airplanes are loud, inside and out but hey, that's one of the great things about them! But has anyone gone the extra step to get the decibels down inside the cockpit? Headsets that don't have electronic noise canceling can only do so much and ENC headsets are quite expensive. It seems like it could be a pretty fun project. One thing Beechcraft does is insulate the cabin with a dense foam to reduce some of the noise. Yes this adds weight, but it sounds like it could be worth the extra few pounds as noise increases fatigue levels. Also, do the aftermarket interiors help with noise reduction?
