Firewall Penetration

How have any of you handled the access hole for the nose gear on an "A" model? The instructions & plans say 7/8" in one place & 1" hole to install the nose gear bolt thru the fire wall. Plans also show the bolt inserted from the bottom side. Doesn't that contradict a safety point using gravity to keep the bolt in? Hoe do you seal a 1" hole fume & fireproof thru the firewall?

You should have a stainless steel press fit plug in your kit that covers that access hole. That and a touch of proseal is all it takes.

Be careful where you drill the hole. I drilled mine exactly per plans, and 1/4" higher would have worked better. YMMV. ;-)
