Anthony, thanks for sharing the link. Looks like a wonderful plan. I will enjoy seeing what your accessory choices are to achieve the "electrical redundancy" and the low empty weight. Best of luck.

Yesterday I went to visit another VAF member, Thilo Kind, who is building an RV8A just up the road (80 Km) from me. I had a very informative conversation with Thilo and I now have a to-do list of things that need to be done before I even get going on building. I will update my blog with all the hoops that need to be jumped through in due course. Basically I have to register my project first with the OUV ( Oskar Ursinus Vereinigung http://www.ouv.de/ This site is in German). OUV is named after Oskar Ursinus, who was an early German aviation pioneer and who is regarded as the Father of gliding in Germany ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oskar_Ursinus ). The OUV act as your representative to the LBA (German FAA). In order to commence building, your workshop has to be inspected to ensure that you have at least an idea on how to build. Anyway more of this in my blog.
