5th french fly in ...

The fifth Van?s Club de France fly in has been organized at Saint Brieuc Armor airport (Brittany, France) last week from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th of jun with the contribution of the aero-club of Saint Brieuc . Due to reasonably good weather conditions we had the chance to see 45 RVs landing here during those three days. Many of them came from England and crossed the Channel. Others came from Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Of course French RVs was numerous with RV4 and 6, few RV7A and 8 and one RV9A. Saturday gave us the opportunity to fly over the magnificent Brittany north coast from Saint Malo to the Br?hat island. A special thanks to Avery tools and the Van's mother ship who gave some door prizes for our lottery that took place at our Saturday evening banquet.
Philippe from the Van's Club de France.

Thanks for Sharing

Thanks for sharing sights from your part of the world with the ones of us who haven't been there. How many RV's are flying in your countries. Looks like you have some very nice airports. What is the price of fuel. Is it difficult to fly to other countries.

Welcome to Europe

There are about 20 RV's flying in France, may be 30 in Germany and more or less then 80 in England.
Yes we have many nice airports in France and also grass fields almost everywhere.
The fuel price 100LL is 1.70 euro for one liter = 1.25 USD so one gallon is approximately 4.60 USD quite more then in USA.
It is not difficult to fly around european countries as long as the pilot have the european PPL, valid medical and can speak in english with the air control. There is not any passport control between France and Germany or Netherlands and other countries in Europe (Shengen agrements).
If an american pilot wants to fly in France, it is not so difficult because the american license is available for a N aircraft. The other solution is to get the certificate from the French DGAC.
Your are welcome in Europe !
Friendly, Philippe.

Philippe, I think you divided by 1.40 instead of multiplying... 1.70 euro is about 2.40 USD now. So your fuel is more like 9.00 USD per gallon. 4.60 USD per gallon would be not too bad here!
