oil temp. probe

To check my engine monitor I need to rig up a temporary oil temperature guage. I would just like to purchase one of the automotive guages for this purpose and I was wondering if any one knows what the standard thread is for the Lycoming installation. Also any leads on a guage that would work for this temporary installation please let me know. Thanks in advance

I'd bet you at least .02 that it's a 5/8"-18 thread. ::p

You know if you want to test the accuracy of your monitor, you might just put the probe into boiling water. Look for 212 deg F. :)
