Flap Hinge

Howdy,
I'm a bit puzzled about the flap hinge. Drawing 15 seems to show it running the full length of the flap, which would have it extending inboard several inches beyond the inboard end of the rear wing spar. If this is the case, does that inboard section of hinge attach to something later or does it get chopped off?

Yeah, I have the flap with extra width right now. I asked a local RV-8 guy and he says cut it off. Still haven't done it because I haven't fitted the wings yet. But I'll cut it off one day...
