Hello Chicagolanders,
My youngest is on spring break, so if the WX cooperates, we might go see grandma in South Bend. I have a question for you 2nd City flyers - I use VFR Flight Following on the trip (ANE-JOT-EKM) and every time I get past Rockford, they tell me Chicago won't take VFR handoffs, but they give me a freq to try, that one has never worked (n=3), but chi-approach will give me new freq to try and that one will work or the next one they give me will.
My guess is the approach freqs are fluid for VFR in Chicago. My path will be RFD-JOT-SBN in that area just skirting the Bravo. Any suggestions for a freq that will work for FF, or is it aways hit or miss? Thanks!
