RV-3 glass panel w/o wing tanks

Has anyone made a glass panel in a RV-3 with the header tank leaving only three inches of clearance behind the instruments?

I was hoping to toss the steam gauges and put in an engine monitor, an EFIS moving map GPS, and autopilot with out spending more than I spent getting a used RV-3.

I'm not aware that any of the glass panel stuff, or autopilot heads for that matter, are 3" or less in depth. That's one of the "issues" with the fuselage tank RV-3s.
