LOE gaggle from Minnesota area

Greetings,

There are a few of us planning to leave from the Minneapolis area for LOE on Thursday, October 4th. Current plans are to leave around 11:00 am (allows others from further to join up), weather depending, obviously. It is just over 1000 n.m., and we will be flying around 155 knots give or take depending on the makeup of the gaggle. We will likely make two stops, for three roughly two hour hops. Friday may involve a little sightseeing flying around the area, I personally am interested in flying over to Sedona and back on Friday (about two hours each way).

Check in here if you are interested.

Bob Collins is looking for a seat if you guys have one, but the reason for this post, if you go to Sedona, be cautious of the winds on landing. Most locals, aircraft performance and braking considered, will land long to avoid the dangerous up and down drafts that are typical on short final there. Just weeks ago we had a local pilot from Tucson get caught up in his Bonanza with a downdraft, three fatalities. I am not trying to scare you away, just give you a heads up. Beautiful place, with a great little cafe right on the field. Hope this helps you to be safe.
