OK Apple computer guru's how do you right click and "save as" on files in a browser?

Hold the mouse down for a couple seconds.

Or, hold down the control (ctrl) key while you click on the link. As a final option, you can get a two button mouse.

Mac OSX supports two-button mice, which work pretty much like they do in Windows (any generic mouse will plug right in and work).

You can also "control click," which means hold down the control button while clicking.

Does it then give you an option as to where the file gets saved?

Yes, it will give you the standard file save dialog box.
