we are considering an AP for our RV-6, RomeoSierra.
any input would be great.
it's an up and flying bird.
what amount of wing disassembly is required?
best to have a pro do it if the plane is already finished?
any and all input before such a task is undertaken would be greatly appreciated.

Contact TruTrak and they can give you the diagrams for installing the roll servo underneath the pilot's seat. No need to install in the wing.

Not a real easy install but not a major problem.

Here is another option:

This is a relatively easy installation in a flying RV provided you have some way to get the wiring to the wingtip. The installation described in the article has provided excellent service for several years now.

I'm just about finished retrofitting a Pictorial Pilot and Altrak from TruTrak in my flying RV6. It really hasn't been a problem at all. The Roll Servo mounts under the seats in the RV6, and TruTrak provides really nice mounting stuff for it. For me, it's easier than going the wing route, but others have easily installed them as Sam as done too. SafeAir1 makes and sells a wingtip mounting kit for the Trio EZ pilot that makes installing that AP a cinch as well.

Either way, you'll be happy with what you buy.

Cheers,
Stein.
