I have noticed that my ASI is a bit lacking in the actual indication department until about 40 mph on takeoff. This is the Van's premarked ASI for the RV-9A. It reads smoothly on the way down and there is no leak in the system - I can pressurize the pitot side and it will hold airspeed for as long as I want.
On takeoff, I mash the go fast knob, the cockpit gets loud and the runway gets blurry, but the ASI is pegged until about 40mph - then it jumps from 0 mph right up there to 40mph. Really does not cause an issue, but does not seem right. Anyone else see anything like this?
