Gyroscopic Stabilization

Doug, would you mind sharing a few pics and some information about your gyro stabilization unit? How big is this thing? Is it hand held or does it mount to the plane? Cost? Source? Operation? Just curious, not trying to take away any of your potential business.

No sweat!

It's a Kenyon Laboratories Commander KS-6 and the kit (2nd pic below) currently sells for $2,900. Same rig Mike Fizer (AOPA photographer) uses. With it you can slow the shutter down to 1/60th and get a proper propellor blur (example that I took). This gyro, coupled with the image stabilization on your lens, will give you one good pic out of about ten (taken at 1/60th in smooth air).

You can shoot for about ten minutes and then your arms get tired <g>.

Hope this helped!
