Main gear threads?

The threads on my main gear are not fitting the nuts supplied.
The nuts thread on the nose, not the mains?
Any one had this?
I'm calling Vans tomorrow

Check the thread profile on your axles. They may have been cut with a bad tool.

Thread file?

Bob Avery came over and rescued me.
He had a file that fit the threads. I had seen this somewhere but did not have one. He worked a couple of hours and had the nuts going on like they are supposed to! I haven't had this problem on any RV 4,6, or 7.
All good,,,, a new lesson learned. A good day!

All you guys building out in the boonies can't know how good I have it here. There is so much RV talent here in the metro mess, DFW. All I have to do is call any one of a number of people and any problem is solved.
IF you want to fly THIS year come on down. I am finishing anothere RV 8.
And pecking away on this 10 with Mike. So another 7 or 8 is really do-able
For me this 2005

I was a machinist and tool maker for several years. I ran manual machines. Some of my work was fixing screw ups from the CNCs. Often, it involved picking up a thread that had been cut with a worn out tool, and correcting the profile. I can't tell ya how many times I had to do it.

I purchased a flying RV-6 about a year ago. I love it!!

Your right Jay, having so many RVer's in the Metro Mess must be nice, Dalhart is a long way from nowhere. Would be so nice to have someone close to get help now and then.
