O 320 Oil screen gasket ??

John_RV4

Well Known Member
I want to remove and clean the oil screen in my O-320. I think the gasket/seal is weeping a bit and I want to replace it.

However, I'm having a tough time finding the right part # so I can order some.

Does anybody know the part # for the screen gasket ??

Thanks in advance.

John

If you are talking about the suction screen the gasket # is STD-111.
If you are talking about the screen that is used instead of a filter, the housing gasket is 61173 and the circular gasket at the rear of the housing is STD-294.
Hope this helps.

Speed of light......

Geez Mel,
What took you so long :). That reply took almost 300 milliseconds..

thanks

Sorry, I didn't have the manual handy. Guess I'll have to get the bookshelf closer to the computer.

I thought the rest was easy.......

I was looking for the 111 gasket. I tried Spruce, Wicks,Van's, SkyRanch....
Nobody seems to have it.

Got a source ?? Thanks again.

John

You might have to go to Lycoming or Surperior. Check with a local A&P. They have to get them somewhere. The suction screen should be checked at least at annual.

Chief

Chief has LYC 61173 "Oil Screen Gasket". I think that's the right part. They also have the screen at a mere $66. Sheesh !!

Thanks

Wrong part... that's the large paper gasket that is used for the oil screen - the oil screen on the accessory housing that Lycoming uses when a spin-on filter is not used.

AERO for parts

I think it's the same thing as an AN900-21 (MS35769-21). That's a copper-asbestos crush gasket. Try this link: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/an900.php

I stole this information from another post on this forum: http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?p=139047#poststop

AERO is a good source for Lycoming parts.

Their web site is also good for giving alternate part numbers.

Usual disclaimer... just a satisfied customer....
