Real world? A Fairchild 24W. Nice flying plane, one of the luxury planes of it's day.

Or an L-6 with a 160 HP Lyc pimped out like an Arctic Tern or simply an Arctic Tern. Good for local fun flying, more practical for travel than the Fairchild because parts are easier to get or make and engine parts are readily available, unlike the Warner on the Fairchild. The L-6 is the military version of my Interstate, has flaps, electrical system, more power (you always want more power) and more payload. Flying qualities of the Interstate can hardly be beat in an airplane of it's vintage.
