I wasn't happy with the paintwork I did on the lower cowl after cutting and buffing it. So, rather than wish I had redone it when it was in the shop, I sanded it all down and repainted it. This time, I got the lighting so I could see what I was painting (important) and it turned out much better. A little cutting and buffing will make this part look like the upper bits. Almost there........!

The subforum description: “For RVators looking for a job and for RVators looking to hire other RVators. Let’s help each other out if we can.”
Are you looking to hire an RV builder/owner for your company (because you’ll already have sort of an idea of their ability to focus on long term projects)? Consider posting that job opening in the VAF Job Board subforum. Currently unemployed (but have an RV project in the garage)? Post you’re looking for work here. It’s the one area where, by design, I give some leeway in regards to the ‘RV only’ rule.
Some examples of perfectly appropriate subject lines:
RV-8 Builder (wings) CPA in TX looking for work.
RV-7 Owner looking to hire IT specialist
Unemployed RV-6 Owner looking for part time retirement work.
RV-10 Builder looking to hire engineer (preferably RV builder/owner)
RVators helping RVators stay employed is what I’m going for.
Thanks if you can help a fellow RVator out.

Drilling Tip - Older Than Dirt ...
All you "oldsters" out there who (once upon a time) did all your own layout & drilling, already know this tip; but, for those "newbies" who don't need to layout/drill their own holes, you'll probably never need it - but still good to know ... For (some of) those holes that are hard to access...

Scott's RV14A: N52XL
That's lucky. It all looks good in the photos. Plenty of dust to deal with here, but we're on a farm in the midst of a very dry season. As long as there is no wind, you’re ok.

Bulkhead snap bushing holes
Building the fuselage for a 7A. I enlarged the holes in the center sections to 5/8 for the snap bushings per the instructions. The four reinforcement plates 704 partially covers all four holes by about 1/8 inch or so which won’t allow the snap bushing to fit. Is it fine to just sand a gentle...

Oil leak on 2 bolts on top #1
Each of my cylinders has 2 bolts on the top of the case. The 2 by #1 cylinder appear to be leaking oil. The one in this photo has a pool of oil on top of it. Not sure what these bolts do but can they leak?

Dented Tailcone
Well… through a dumb bonehead move, I dropped the folding leg of my engine hoist into the tailcone on my rv12. 🤦♂️ This was just after we finished riveting the tailcone onto the fuselage and was cleaning up. I’m assuming this skin needs to be replaced? The scratch is almost half through the...
