I asked Grok about starlink pricing. He tells me they lowered the pricing this week from $250 to $200 and increased the data from 20 gigs to 50 gigs.

Can anyone confirm this?

I finished my Starlink conversion to GA less than 300MPH. They require that you give them your tail number, ICAO aircraft type, and a photo copy of your passport. Not a very clear or easy process. I had to open a ticket to ask how to get it done. It required couple email exchanges for the whole process

The new monthly charge is $175/month. Not great but a little better.

I have it in standby mode right now. My plan is to only turn it on when I know we will be traveling.

So how does the billing work if it is in standby mode vs "turned on". If you turn it on one day during the month you pay the 175? Thanks.

I just did the same conversion. 50GB a month at $175 per month. I use it enough where it is worth it to me but I understand the heartburn from the price increase. I haven't looked at pausing service since I fly year round regularly.

Initial advertised jump in price went to $250/mo then $200. When did the $175 show up? Home prices just decreased, will this happen to GA?
Initially, with the $250, they offered a free month to get you hooked. Is that still there?

It’s $175 plus $25 for 50GB.

I had the old $50 plan.

Two weeks ago I converted it to the aviation plan. We just got home from a trip to Idaho in the 182 and will be flying to Airventure in a couple weeks. It is expensive but it paid for itself several times over while dealing with weather last week.

Those ADSB METARS that can be an hour old are to the minute accurate if you call the AWOS phone number. Need to divert, call the FBO for a hotel. It just made life easier and it worked flawlessly.

I'll cancel the service when we get home from Oshkosh.
