Retracts RV-3 ish airplane
I haven?t been on here much lately but I?ll throw in 2 pennies on this retract discussion. I know it?s not an RV but the wing is VERY similar to what later became the RV-3. Speeds and performance is also very similar. It was originally built with fixed gear and finished in 1961. Within a couple years it was changed to retractable gear. Then in the early 70?s changed back to fixed gear. Logs show net reduction of 45lbs by taking out the retracts!
