Charcoal kilns.
Niet! An UFO expert told me it's an alien propeller spinner factory

Got quite a few of those clusters of “spinners” in Nevada…usually in groups of four or six. Very neat to go inside! Charcoal ovens, actually….
Any of them close to an airport Paul? Would love to go inside. The kilns in Wyoming and Colorado don't have a suitable landing site nearby.
I think there's some within walking distance of Glenwood Springs airport.

The Ward Charcoal Ovens are free and open to the public, and about 13 miles from KELY/Ely, NV. The County has a loaner car at the airport. There is a private runway, WIllow Creek Trading Post, with a shorter turf runway within a 10 minute or less walk from the ovens. But, I dont have contact info for the owners. The charcoal ovens around the western US were located in areas of tree growth to be cut and used to prepare charcoal used in early copper smelters. If you come to Ely, allow time to tour the historic Nevada Northern Railroad shop and museum (free, unguided, walkaround of dozens of steam and diesel electric engines and a variety of passenger and cargo traincars.)https://www.google.com/maps/@39.037468,-114.8336545,1709m/data=!3m1!1e3
Looks like a dirt strip just to the east of the kilns. I have no idea if you need prior permission to land there?
The kilns are open for public access.

I think that is more of a mistake, unless the poles flipped while I wasnt looking. That's a lot of delineation change. Tons of iron and nickel moved beneath this place. Only possible in my backyard.

I suppose that wasn’t quirky. But I thought it was a great view.Tetons on the way back from Oshkosh last year.View attachment 63619
I've flown over that area a bunch of times too and never seen it, or heard of it. Just dumb luck this trip... I might be flying over your heart shape Wyoming rock today, certainly something worth keeping an eye out for!Wow! How did I miss the caldera the size of Aniakchak. Flown over it multiple times. Good eye Chris!
For those who are less familiar, that is "Upheaval Dome" in Canyonlands National Park. Thought to be a heavily eroded impact crater.I've flown over that area a bunch of times too and never seen it, or heard of it. Just dumb luck this trip... Thanks for the info! I'm not sure why the geolocation the picture was Arches and not Canyonlands. For those who are less familiar, that is "Upheaval Dome" in Canyonlands National Park. Thought to be a heavily eroded impact crater.

Resembles, but that's not Kingman. The parked airliners look like Kingman AZ.

You'd have to be nuts to land there.I saw a rather creative helipad a little while ago…
BOOO! ( )You'd have to be nuts to land there.
Ancestral Puebloans built watchtowers near their settlements to watch for raiders. This looks very much like the ones I've seen in Bears Ears National Monument in Utah.Somewhere in Utah in the middle of nowhere. I have no idea what it is.
Google Earth is your friend……Saw an interesting feature adjacent to Mt Shasta yesterday (Sunday) on the flight up from the SF Bay Area to Oregon (see below). Wondering what it may be - in the small sampling of folks I have asked so far the responses have included:
D.U.M.B.s (tin foil hat)
Occult worship site
Odd Subdivision
Very Large Pie-Cutter
First Pic shows the general area with Mt Shasta for perspective.
Second pic zooms in on the feature which is to the west of Shasta by one of the large 'cinder cone' mountains about 6 miles away from Shasta.
Any ideas?
