Starter Solenoid Question

Building an RV-10. I purchased a starter solenoid from B&C (S702-1) only to find that the mounting tabs don't match the stock RV-10 location/nut plates.

I was going to purchase the stock starter solenoid from Van's (https://store.vansaircraft.com/starter-solenoid-es-24021.html).

Do I need the starter relay protection diode (ES DIODE STARTER) or diode, starter relay (ES-00165) as well?

The Nuckoll's diagram I'm looking at (z-14) does not show an external diode on the starter contactor (but the contactor they show is S702-1 and it looks to have an internal diode).

Thanks!

Thanks! There are two ES diode part numbers.

ES DIODE STARTER and ES-00165 and they are different parts
Correct - one is for a Master Relay, the other is for the 24021 Starter Relay. The stud sizes are different between the two, ergo the ring terminals are different sizes.
