Is there still someone doing database updates?
You mean like me? I still have a 430W, keep the data base current. Two options for annual subscription: Garmin at $300, Jepp at $450.Is there still someone doing database updates?
Lots of people. I just did an update today. Garmin says they plan on supporting the 430 for “decades.”Is there still someone doing database updates?
this regards the 430-w only?Lots of people. I just did an update today. Garmin says they plan on supporting the 430 for “decades.”
Not sure. I'll see if I can dig up the interview with the Garmin guy.this regards the 430-w only?
Is there a difference in the WAAS vs non-WAAS databases? I just bought a programmer and recently did a 1-time update on my database from 2017 to current in my non-WAAS GPS 400 (same as 430 but without the NAV/COM) and it seems to be working just fine(panel building, but not flying yet). This is the first I heard of a database difference? If its a waas unit american gps in palm beach area will do it. They cannot do the non waas. Search ebay for more options.

It’s definitely a different card for WAAS versus non-WAAS. Might also be a different card reader/programmer. But it’s almost certainly the same nav database. Is there a difference in the WAAS vs non-WAAS databases? Thanks! This is what my Non-WAAS setup looks like (GPS400). Card came with the unit I bought used a couple years ago. Got the writer at the Garmin tent in KOSH this year. I think Garmin went above and beyond to help me get started and I had zero issues using the account they set up for me and transferring an update onto my card. My GPS is installed and it's interfacing nicely. Just a bunch more airplane to build before I get to really enjoy the setup...It’s definitely a different card for WAAS versus non-WAAS.
