Hi,

I'm getting ready to do more aerobatics in my RV-6, so I'm removing the vacuum system and gyros. A Dynon D10a or D100 will be the replacement. So, I'm wondering if anyone has had good luck with the internal compass in the D10a?

I want to keep the installation as simple as possible, but I don't want a compass system that has problems. This bird will be used for VFR/day flight only.

Let me know what your experience has been if you've been using the D10a with the internal compass.

Thanks,
Bruce

Bruce, I used the internal magnetometer for a while. It worked fairly well until I changed some equipment around. Maybe around plus or minus 5 degrees. I think it was when I added a Garmin 396 near the Dynon that it quit working well despite a couple of calibration attempts.

I added a remote magnetometer in the tail and that works really well.
