Have you looked into fixing LCD screens? Many times it is some failure of the layers (screen, polarizing filter, etc.) and it is possible to fix an LCD. I haven't tried, but have seen some how-to's. Worth a look, assuming it isn't just blank. But, check if the problem is actually a dead backlight if it 'looks' blank. A photo of your problem might help to see if repair is possible.
 
I had a buddy drop his 430.. it wouldn’t power up.. he had an electronic guy open it it, he had a custom light bulb made for the screen, replaced some other solder on components, and it works great.
