Don't do that

You REALLY need those handholds when you take the wings off-- even if you only do it once a year for the C.I.

Yeah, handling the wings without the handholds would be very difficult.

I don't mind the holes in the wings. I'm considering tying colored streamers to them like the old flight and squadron commanders did back in WW1.

I find it surprising that such a great looking airplane has an unfinished look at the point where the wing skin and tip meet at the leading edge. After the fly off of tests I trimmed off the rough end and filled it in with fiber glass and micro balloons. I also painted all the wing and control surface tips a dark color since it makes minor imperfections less noticeable than light color paint.
