I bought a flying RV-12 which does not have the lighting package. Van?s info says they use AeroLED LN-201-1 wingtip lights. I want to add just the wing tip lights. Can I buy just the wingtip lights from Van?s? I don?t see AeroLED doing a Google search ? perhaps Van?s proprietary design? How about Whelen MicroBurst self-contained LED?s? The MicroBurst measures 1.5? high and this looks too big to mount to the RV-12 wing tip bow. Any thoughts appreciated?

Here are just the lights from Van's, but you're also going to need the fiberglass mounting brackets for the RV-12 and probably some other stuff.

We are doing the retro fit of the lights right now. Section 40 of the build manual covers this and you will need the templates. If the previous builder didn't leave provisions to run wire through the wings it can be real fun (not). There are connectors at the wing roots different than the initial build as well as needing the wing extensions to hold the AeroLed lights. See if Van's will sell the kits components excluding the landing light. You will need three new wires on each side and the kit have a noise filter.
