Hi everyone,
I managed to find a hanger for my RV 12 at less than half the rental rate if I leave the wings of. I have a Murphy Rebel in front of me that I pull out side then my wife and I place the wings on in the hanger and then pull the plane outside.
The advantage is I get to fly for say one hour then pay my landing fee of $16 and the go an buy a coffee for my wife and I with what we have saved.
I hope to do the first engine run next weekend so I have not done the flying part yet. The disadvantage of my plan is when I want to put my wings on by myself.
I have my wings stored in a vertical rolling stand next to the fuselage. I have seen a wing rigger which is made by Steve in Mesa, Arizona which looks like it would be ideal for the job. I have emailed Steve about this. He says that he has not made a model for the RV 12 yet. He would be keen to look at an RV 12 closer to home to check things out before he sent me one. I think that would be a good idea as well.
Is there someone who is close in Arizona who is able to make contact with Steve to let him see their RV 12?
Maybe some one who knows how to add links to the forum could also place a link to his web site so that those who may be interested in the idea could see the concept. I think I got the idea of this forum a few years back.
Cheers
