There has been a fair amount of discussion of how to get the reed switches to reliably close...the suggestion of enlarging the hole in the arm rest is a good one and that worked on one of my pins.

The other side was another story...no matter what I did I could not get it to close as it should...I cut down the steel arm as much as Van allows, tried putting things in the bullet to adjust the height of the magnet, etc, but nothing worked.

Out of desperation I thought of a magnet from a microwave oven I had that is VERY strong. I took it and 'stroked' it against the arm of the pin assembly about 20 or 30 times, always in one direction. It very slightly magnetized the steel arm. That extra magnetism was enought to make the reed switch close every time.
