Just googled my tail number as we all do occasionally, and there is a picture I never took and have never seen of me about to take off in my plane (small chance just landed). How are these pictures uploaded?

Users on flightaware will take pictures of planes and upload them on the website and tag the tail number/make/model/airport.

I call these users "weirdos". It's kinda creepy, if you ask me, to have someone whose passion is taking pictures of other peoples' planes and posting them.

The photo of my airplane was taken at Oshkosh. I have tried to upload a photo of a friend's RV-7A so that I would see the photo when using FlightAware looking for his airplane but all my attempts failed.

They do stuff like taking pictures on the Mach Loop in England or pictures at airshows and Red Flag events at Nellis.

I can see where the photography and aviation passion easily intersects. It seems like innocent fun to me so I wouldn't mind, but I just hope that photos of my plane don't get posted or scraped before it gets paint!
