We were northeast of St. Louis about 50 miles on the Sunday before Oshkosh and heard some chatter on 123.45. It sounded like a flight of 4 or 5 planes. They were calling themselves Eagle 1,2 etc. One guy keyed up and said he smelled smoke and needed someone to locate the neareast airport and lead him to it. IIRC it was 8 miles on a heading of 130. I never did hear much more after that and was just wondering how it all turned out. I'm not even sure they were RV's. Anyone know anything?
