I am doing a major on an O320-E2A. Where do I take my engine parts for inspection and machining? I think most of this stuff is done in Tulsa, OK, but am not sure of the names of the companies doing the work.

Divco for the case... Aircraft Specialties for the rest, ask for Bob Merrell.
 
I'm looking to send cam/crank/rods/gears/lifters/cylinders to ECI and my case to Divco. I haven't had any experience with either company yet, so I can't offer any advice.

Does anyone have any experience with the Freedom cylinder overhaul from ECI?
 
I just sent out this morning a couple of big boxes of IO-540 steel parts to Aircraft Specialties, case and cylinders to Chuck Ney.

ECI is also a good choice for overhauling steel parts.

The rest of the parts (sump, intake tubes, etc.) are all going into a hot tank at a local automotive engine shop for degreasing and stripping.

Rick Roman's has an excellent reputation inspecting and reworking the metal parts. I would buy NEW Lycoming cylinders rather than rebuilding the old. The cost difference in next to nothing and Lycoming cylinders have an excellent reputation. My case was sent to Divco. They inspected, repaired and CW all of the Lycoming SB's. There are a couple of upgrades you can do to the case to make it even more bullet proof.

Regardless of who does the work... Inspect and measure everything before you reassemble. Contrary to popular belief.........Repair Stations are not infallable and they produce crappy work from time to time.
Also make sure that you have a mutual understanding of what is to be done for what money.

You can upgrade to 160hp when you overhaul. I believe it is different pistons and a different pitch on the prop.
