A question for you legal gurus out there.

When you move to another state, who, what, and how - must be notified (with regards to aviation)?

YOU - The FAA (pilot's address change) and how should this be done?

YOUR PLANE - ??? I'm think registration, insurance, taxes, state requirements, special licenses, etc....

I'l facing this in the near future and don't want to get blindsided.

Within 30 Days .. and can be done online

I'm thinking the same time limits for ins. & reg. (Same for your personal vehicle).

Probably a good idea to let your wife know before moving day comes.

Followed by :

The FAA for the address your aircraft is registered under.
The FAA for your pilots license address of record.

Your insurance company for where the aircraft will be based.
(ask your agent about hurricane coverage as Mobile maybe a different coverage zone than Jackson)

Don't worry about the Alabama tax man, he'll find you.

What hospital are you going to?
I did my residency and fellowship@ USAMC and worked out of Providence, Drs., and Knollwood.

Good luck.

Who knows - I might even take her with me!! Seriously, we're both excited.

Will have to get a new address first. Temp housing for me until home sells.

Called them. Hanger to hanger, paved to paved, no change.

Isn't that the truth. Mill Rate is low there and here's the best part. If they can't find a Vref, then its based off of $5,000 as a kit plane.

Mobile Infirmary

Good luck.

Thanks

Something to file away for future use:

When moving your (experimental) aircraft to a new FSDO geographic area of responsibility and you have a requirement to reopen Phase I flight testing (e.g. major airframe / powerplant modification, opening the aerobatic window, etc.), you must obtain an amended set of operating limitations from the gaining FSDO. Part of the new operating limitations will include the designation of a new practice area.

Tom
