I have a couple of places where I drilled "extra" holes (read "mistakes"). These are #30 and #40 drill-size holes in the aluminum. It's easy enough to rivet in a backing plate and fill the holes, but I'm not sure what to fill them with.

I've read through the forums and found that bondo will shrink; not desirable. Other fillers will crack. Any suggestions? Especially from those of you having used fillers in your plane and been flying them a while.

Thanks.

Or leave it and tell everyone that it's a lightening hole.

Rage Gold is an excellent body filler. It's polyester based like Bondo but it's not Bondo. Set up quickly (15 mins or so) so you can get on it right away, unlike some epoxy based systems that have to dry overnight.
