Mounting a James MK3 Air filter.

The 4 corner bolts...are these an AN-4?

It feels to tight to be? Mattituck is out of business or I'd call them :(

Correct, they are a course thread bolt. .25 if I remember correctly.

At least they are on my Precision Fuel Servo.

One more thing, I believe these typically use a stud not a bolt.

With the stud, you install it once, and the wear from periodic removal of the FAB is vastly reduced. The FAB is then held on by a nut.

This is pretty common practice in cast aluminum parts.

My Aerosport engine package ...

...included four drilled-head, 1/4-20, AN bolts for the filter box attachment. They of course get safety wired in place. Makes a neat installation.
