Just curious what percent each kit makes up of the entire plane... for instance... Once the tail kit is complete, would that be about 10% of the plane that is finished? More? Less?

Looking at Dan Checkoway's numbers (seems pretty close to the mark)
Empennage - 200 hours
Wings - 400 hours
Fuselage - 420 hours
Finish kit - 166 hours
Wiring, Panel, FWF - 390 hours
Cowls, Baffles etc - 130 hours
Wrap-up - 320 hours

And that's for a standard build.
So 10% seems a reasonable guess, but they're all different

Just from my personal experience, I would say that with a slow-build kit the airframe is about 50-60% of the project.

The important thing is to keep chugging along and don't use anyone else's progress as a measure of your own. You'll get there eventually. Hey, if I can do it, anyone can.

I'm not quite sure how the math works out, but in my experience, once I completed the 4th kit I was about 90% complete with 90% left to go:p
