The Van's RV-14 plans call for you to remove the small jumper on the back of the Skytech starter and connect an 18 gauge wire from the starter solenoid to the smaller lug on the starter. I am sure they have a good reason for this, but I'd kinda like to know what it is.

Any ideas?
