Crossed the Cascades Wednesday morning as the atmospheric river was brewing… by the time I crossed them again that evening I was riding the river home. Nice tailwind, but a bit bumpy over the hills. On the ground a couple minutes after sunset.
Forecast yesterday was for IFR all day. The weather didn't cooperate though, and the skies cleared early afternoon, so off I went. In the first picture, the "tectonic plate movement" of this lake I found very artistic!
Re the second picture, only a few lakes have any open water, so the migrating birds tend to collect there. The round area in the second picture is open water (just above the wingtip) and is currently home to perhaps 500 geese and a few hundred trumpeter swans. They are very noisy... the arrow points to where we live.
Went for a cold, bumpy flight with all the x wind I care to fly in!!
