I've got the "FlightScale" weight and balance app for my iPad and overall, like it.
You first put in the points (weight and arm) for the allowable CG envelope. Also put in the empty weight and arm or moment, the fuel and oil weights and arms. Include the arms for the pilot and passenger(s), the baggage, etc.
Then save the template. When you call it up, you'll put in the weight of the people and baggage and the app shows a graphic of the allowable envelope with the fuel fuel weight and cg position and empty weight and cg position.
It also shows the numeric values.
For me, this has been a quick and easy way to ensure that I've loaded the plane within its limits.
I like the app - and I'm just a customer here.
